Kenny Cheung
Chairman & CEO
Mr. Cheung is a high-net-worth entrepreneur with over 20 years’ experience in financing and structuring companies. He is experienced in assembling and financing the right management teams for the best exit strategy to build wealth. He has a proven track record for financing early stage companies that have gone on to become successful business enterprises.
Mr. Cheung started building Koi Investment Partners International in 2010 to build a vehicle to conserve wealth. Mr. Cheung took his passion for building business to the finance world
He has collaborated with leading math professors from premier universities
Mr. Cheung has been able to develop proprietary algorithms by leveraging his relationships and recruiting top talent for Koi.
Mr. Cheung is the Responsible Officer for Koi as required for regulatory compliance under the Securities and Futures Ordinance (SFO), Type 9 license. Providing a service of managing a portfolio of securities or futures contracts for clients on discretionary basis.
Dr. Albert Cheung
Director of Research
Dr. Cheung is an accomplished engineer and engineering consultant, with over 45 years of academic and industrial experience in the US and Hong Kong. With expertise in the applications of chaos, wavelet and network theories to economic systems, Dr. Cheung leads Koi’s research team in financial modelling and algorithm design for the company’s investment service as well as generating future products.
In 2013, Dr. Cheung became an Honorary Professor at the School of Science and Technology, Open University of Hong Kong, having served as Director of the Building and Real Estates Laboratory in the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering at the City University of Hong Kong between 2004 to 2013.
Dr. Cheung began his academic career at the University of California, Berkeley, where he received his PhD in Microwave Astrophysics and Electronics. He also holds an MA in Solid-State Physics and Laser Optics from UC Berkeley and a BS with Great Distinction in Physics from Stanford University, California. He is a fellow of the IET (UK) and the HKIE (HK), a Chartered Engineer in the UK and Hong Kong; and a Registered Professional Engineer in Hong Kong.
Thomas Kwong
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Kwong joined Koi Investment Partners International in 2011. He has over 26 years of experience in the financial industry.
From 2006 to 2010, Mr. Kwong was the Director of Operations of Frontier Asia Capital Hong Kong Limited.
Prior to that, Mr. Kwong worked at State Street Hong Kong, for 13 years, taking up various roles in the Investment Servicing division. Mr. Kwong’s last position was Assistant Vice President, responsible for covering major institutional clients and investment managers in the Asia region.
Mr. Kwong received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Schulich School of Business, York University in Canada.
